Saudi-led coalition says it intercepted 2 ballistic missiles, destroyed 4 drones over southern Saudi Arabia

The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted two ballistic missiles and destroyed four drones over southern Saudi Arabia, according to a coalition statement.

Interception details

The coalition said the ballistic missiles were intercepted over the areas of Khamis Mushait and Jazan, while the four drones were destroyed over Khamis Mushait. No additional details on casualties or damage were included in the coalition's statement.

The interceptions point to continued cross-border attacks launched toward southern Saudi Arabia, an area that has periodically faced missile and drone attacks tied to the broader conflict in neighboring Yemen.

Ongoing conflict context

The coalition has regularly reported intercepting projectiles fired toward Saudi territory amid the years-long conflict involving Houthi forces in Yemen. The statement did not attribute the specific attack to any group, and no comment from Houthi representatives was included in the report.

Further details on the frequency of similar incidents in recent weeks, or on any response the coalition may take, were not included in the initial report.
