YouTube builds AI creator tools that handle more of the work for them
At its annual Made on YouTube event, the platform unveiled AI tools that increasingly tell creators what to do to succeed with the algorithm.

YouTube is building artificial intelligence tools designed to handle more of the work involved in growing a channel, increasingly guiding creators on what actions to take rather than leaving them to determine strategy on their own, according to a report from The Verge.
A core part of a content creator's job has historically involved figuring out how to get their videos in front of the largest possible audience, a process often described as understanding or working with the platform's recommendation algorithm. That process has traditionally required significant trial and error on the part of creators.
The new direction, unveiled at YouTube's annual creator-focused Made on YouTube event, reflects a shift toward the platform proactively advising creators on specific steps to improve performance, rather than creators having to reverse-engineer algorithmic preferences themselves.
The push is part of a broader wave of AI tool announcements from YouTube aimed at creators, spanning areas such as content editing, audience analysis and production assistance, as the platform competes with other short- and long-form video services for creator talent.
The Verge's report characterized the shift as part of an ongoing evolution in how YouTube manages its relationship with the creators who produce content on the platform.
