Russia Concerned Over Military-Biological Activities of Several Countries, Lavrov Says

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia is concerned about the military-biological activities of a number of countries, according to TASS.
Lavrov noted that half a century after the Biological Weapons Convention (BTWC) took effect in 1975, "the problem of ensuring biological security has not lost its urgency."
His remarks come amid ongoing international discussion over compliance and verification mechanisms under the treaty, which bans the development, production and stockpiling of biological weapons.
Lavrov did not name specific countries in the remarks reported by TASS.
