The 2026 Major League Baseball playoffs continue with a busy slate of division series action, as the Cleveland Guardians, New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres each face pivotal games to keep their postseason runs alive. Eight teams in total are in action as both the American League Division Series and National League Division Series roll on.
High stakes across both leagues
Division series matchups carry heightened pressure, with teams facing elimination forced to adjust strategy, bullpen usage and lineup decisions in search of a way to extend their season. For the Guardians, Yankees, Braves and Padres, the latest round of games represents a critical juncture in their respective postseason paths.
Managers across both series are weighing decisions on starting pitching, with some clubs opting for aggressive bullpen strategies to maximize their chances in elimination-style games, while others lean on frontline starters to try to extend the series.
The outcomes on this loaded playoff day will help determine which teams advance toward the League Championship Series, narrowing the field as October postseason baseball reaches its more intense stages.
