Disney Plus will stream Super Bowl LXI, the company confirmed Wednesday, marking the first time the National Football League's championship game will be available on the service.
The game is scheduled to kick off on February 14, 2027. Disney Plus subscribers in the United States will be able to watch the same broadcast simultaneously airing on ESPN, giving streaming-only households direct access to the game without needing a separate cable or satellite subscription.
The announcement extends Disney's strategy of using its flagship streaming platform to carry major live sports events, following the company's broader push to integrate ESPN programming into Disney Plus. Pairing the Super Bowl with the streaming service is likely to be viewed as a significant test of how large audiences respond to watching the NFL's biggest game outside of traditional television.
Additional details about ancillary programming, pricing, or any special features tied to the Disney Plus broadcast were not immediately available.
