Australian Researchers Discover Two New Stick Insect Species in Queensland

According to The Guardian, Australian researchers have identified two new large stick insect species, Anchiale robusta and Anchiale mabiensis, both found in far north Queensland.

The discovery is described in a study published in the journal Austral Entomology. Researchers said the find illustrates how little is still understood about insect diversity and described the case as one of mistaken identity.
