Dario Amodei, chief executive of AI company Anthropic, has called for a more measured approach to developing frontier artificial intelligence systems, according to a report published by Turkey's Anadolu Agency.

Amodei reportedly warned that the pace at which advanced AI systems are being developed could outstrip the safety measures needed to manage them responsibly, the report said.

According to the report, Amodei proposed the establishment of independent oversight mechanisms to monitor the development of powerful AI systems, arguing that internal industry safeguards alone may not be sufficient to address emerging risks.

The Anthropic CEO also called for greater international coordination among governments and technology developers, the report noted, suggesting that fragmented national approaches could leave gaps in the global governance of frontier AI technologies.

Anadolu Agency's report outlined the remarks as part of a broader set of five key points attributed to Amodei concerning the risks and governance challenges posed by rapidly evolving AI capabilities.

Anthropic, the company Amodei leads, is among the firms developing large-scale AI models and has previously voiced concerns about the safety implications of advancing AI capabilities without corresponding oversight structures.
