Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that U.S. President Donald Trump did not demand that Ukraine unilaterally halt its strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, following a meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Zelensky's comments come amid ongoing discussions between Kyiv and Washington over the trajectory of the war and the terms under which a broader settlement with Russia might be reached.

Ukraine has carried out strikes on Russian energy facilities as part of its wartime strategy, and the question of whether such strikes might be curtailed as part of diplomatic efforts has been a point of interest amid ongoing peace discussions.

The meeting was one of several held by Zelensky with world leaders during the UN General Assembly session, as Ukraine continues to seek international support for its position in the war.

Neither the White House nor Ukrainian officials have released a full transcript or detailed readout of the discussion.
