A growing number of Germans are learning the Kurdish language, driven by personal relationships and an interest in Kurdish culture, according to Deutsche Welle's Arabic service.
Learners cited motivations ranging from romantic relationships and friendships to a desire to understand Kurdish customs, values and traditions more deeply, the broadcaster reported.
Deutsche Welle noted that learning Kurdish in Germany comes with its own set of challenges.
