Uber was ordered to pay $40 million to the parents of Emily Normandin-Parker, who died after a driver kicked her and a friend out of his car on the side of a California freeway, according to newly public arbitration documents. Retired California judge Richard A. Stone, serving as arbitrator, found the ride-share company "vicariously liable" for the driver's negligence.
