Turkish Defense Firm Roketsan Says Its KARAOK System Hit Aerial Target for First Time

Turkish defense company Roketsan says its KARAOK weapon system has successfully hit an aerial target for the first time, according to the company's chief executive.

Roketsan's CEO said the short-range anti-tank weapon system has expanded its operational scope with this milestone, marking a new capability beyond its original design purpose.

Roketsan is one of Türkiye's leading defense manufacturers, producing a range of missile and weapons systems for the Turkish military as well as for export. Türkiye's defense industry has expanded significantly in recent years, with domestic firms increasingly developing systems intended to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers.

The successful test of KARAOK against an aerial target adds to a series of announcements from Turkish defense companies showcasing expanded capabilities of their existing systems.
