Study urges national roadmap for battery storage deployment in Pakistan
Research from SDPI and NCET calls for a data-driven approach to siting grid-scale battery systems to ease grid constraints.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), a new study titled "Optimal Siting of Grid-Scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Pakistan" has called for a data-driven national roadmap to deploy battery storage technology in the country.
The study, conducted by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in collaboration with the Network for Clean Energy Transition (NCET), says such a roadmap is needed to ease mounting constraints on Pakistan's electricity grid.
The research was launched in Islamabad, APP reported.
