Hunan Resources SMC (Private) Limited has resumed operations at its industrial facility in Dhabeji, District Thatta, Sindh, after intervention by Pakistan's Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the company said in a statement issued on Friday.

In a formal communication, the company acknowledged SIFC's support and coordination, which it said played a central role in resolving issues that had affected the facility. The statement did not detail the precise nature of the problems that had disrupted operations, but described SIFC's intervention as timely and effective.

Role of SIFC

The Special Investment Facilitation Council was established to streamline investment processes and address bottlenecks facing both domestic and foreign investors in Pakistan, particularly in sectors identified as priorities for economic growth. The council brings together civilian and military leadership to fast-track decisions on investment-related matters.

Dhabeji, located in Thatta district in Sindh province, has been positioned as a hub for industrial development, including a special economic zone intended to attract manufacturing investment.

Hunan Resources did not provide further details on when normal operations would return to full capacity or the scale of the disruption that had affected the facility. The company's statement framed the resumption as a sign of continued confidence in SIFC's facilitation role for investors operating in the province.

Further details on the specific issues resolved were not disclosed in the available reporting.
