Shipping Through Strait of Hormuz Slows Amid US-Iran Tensions
Vessel traffic through the strategic waterway fell sharply as oil prices hovered near a weekly low, according to Deutsche Welle Arabic.
Shipping data show that 12 raw-material cargo vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz at the start of this week, down from 35 vessels the previous week, according to Deutsche Welle's Arabic service.
The decline comes amid continued tension in the Gulf, with the standoff between the United States and Iran remaining at an impasse, the broadcaster reported.
Oil prices were reported to be near their lowest level in more than a week.
