KARACHI — The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Friday that it injected Rs2,640.45 billion into the money market through Reverse Repo Purchase and Shariah Compliant Mudarabah-based Open Market Operations (OMOs), according to a statement from the central bank.

The SBP said the operation was aimed at maintaining liquidity levels within the banking system.

According to the central bank, the Open Market Operation, Reverse Repo Purchase (Injection), was conducted for tenors of 7 and 14 days on September 18, 2026, as part of its regular liquidity management activities.

The State Bank of Pakistan routinely conducts such operations to manage short-term liquidity in the domestic money market, using instruments including reverse repo purchases and Shariah-compliant Mudarabah-based facilities to support banking sector stability.

Further details on the specific allocation, participating institutions, or rates applied during the operation were not immediately disclosed in the central bank's statement.
