Russia's total combat losses in its war against Ukraine rose by 1,590 over the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative toll since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022 to approximately 1,525,570 personnel, according to Ukraine's Ukrinform news agency, citing the Ukrainian military's General Staff.
The figures, covering the period from February 24, 2022 through September 25, 2026, are compiled and released daily by Ukraine's armed forces as part of its regular reporting on the conflict.
Independently unverified figures
As with previous updates, the casualty figures come from Ukrainian military sources and have not been independently verified; Russia does not routinely publish its own casualty data and has previously disputed similar Ukrainian estimates.
The daily tally is one of several metrics Ukraine's General Staff publishes to track the war's toll, alongside estimates of destroyed equipment such as tanks, artillery systems and aircraft.
Ukrinform's report did not include a comparable estimate of Ukrainian military losses over the same period.
