Red Wings plans to launch flights to Egypt's Borg El Arab next year

Russian airline Red Wings expects to begin flying to Borg El Arab airport in Egypt next year, according to a report by TASS.

The airline said its plans for flights to El Alamein, another destination in Egypt, also remain in place, suggesting the carrier is looking to expand its presence in the Egyptian market across multiple routes.

Egypt has been a popular destination for Russian travelers, particularly for its Red Sea coastal resorts, and airlines have periodically expanded routes to meet demand from tourists. Borg El Arab, located near Alexandria, and El Alamein, a coastal destination, both serve as gateways to different parts of Egypt's tourism and business travel markets.

The report did not specify the expected frequency of the planned flights, the aircraft that would be used, or the precise timing next year when service to Borg El Arab would begin. Red Wings has operated a range of domestic and international routes as part of its network.

Airlines expanding service between Russia and Egypt have in the past cited strong demand from leisure travelers as a key driver behind new route announcements, alongside broader efforts to restore and grow air connectivity between the two countries.
