Racist remarks made by a Carcassonne municipal police officer, captured on his own body camera, sparked widespread outrage and embarrassment for the National Rally, Le Monde reported.
The incident, dating to November 2025, was revealed by the newspaper Midi Libre, and prosecutors in Carcassonne opened an investigation, according to the report. The officer, a senior brigadier, also belonged to the National Rally's security service, which announced his removal from that unit and expulsion from the party.
