The Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo has exceeded 7,000 confirmed cases, according to health authorities. The death toll stands at 3,475 people since the start of the epidemic.

Although the epidemic remains concentrated in Ituri, it is now spreading to a seventh province: South Ubangi. Health teams face major challenges, particularly attacks in the field that hamper efforts to combat the spread of the virus.
