Pakistan's Polio Vaccination Drive Enters Sixth Day, Over 27.7 Million Children Reached

Pakistan's Sub-National Polio Vaccination Campaign continued for a sixth consecutive day on Saturday across selected districts of the country, according to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC).

The NEOC reported that more than 27.7 million children were vaccinated during the campaign's first five days, as health workers carried out immunization efforts in the targeted districts.

The campaign forms part of Pakistan's continuing effort to eliminate polio, a disease the country has battled for years despite repeated nationwide and sub-national vaccination drives.

Officials have not yet released a final tally for the full duration of the current campaign, with further updates expected as immunization work concludes in the selected districts.

Health authorities are continuing to urge families in the targeted districts to ensure their children receive the vaccine before the drive ends.
