Pakistani security forces killed eight militants, described by authorities as belonging to a group they call 'Fitna al-Khwarij,' in an exchange of fire in Hangu district on Sunday, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

According to APP, two officers, including a captain and a lieutenant, and four armed forces personnel were killed during the intense exchange. The report identified the captain as 23-year-old Abuzar Farooq.
