The accused face charges ranging from passive corruption to breaches of national sovereignty, in a case that centers on the Malagasy registration of these aircraft found in Iran.
The hearing was nonetheless postponed to October 27, as the civil party ultimately failed to appear before the court. The trial is intended to clarify the circumstances under which these aircraft were able to bear Malagasy administrative registration while located in Iran, a country subject to international sanctions that particularly affect the aviation sector.
