Longtime Lakers public address announcer Lawrence Tanter dies

Lawrence Tanter, who spent decades as the public address announcer for the Los Angeles Lakers, has died, according to ESPN.

Tanter had manned the arena microphone for the Lakers dating back to the team's 'Showtime' era in the 1980s, a period during which the franchise won multiple NBA championships and became known for a fast-paced, star-studded style of play.
