Housing: Lecornu commits to tabling "housing revival" bill in Parliament

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has committed to having the "housing recovery" bill placed on the agenda of the National Assembly, according to a letter addressed to the actors of the housing sector.
In this letter, the head of government promises to maintain, in the finance bill for 2027, an envelope of 500 million euros devoted to social housing, an amount equivalent to that already granted for the year 2026.
A sector awaiting measures
This commitment comes at a time when housing stakeholders, whether social landlords, developers or associations in the sector, have been calling for several months for recovery measures in the face of the persistent difficulties of the real estate and construction market in France.
The "housing recovery" bill is presented by the government as a text intended to respond to these concerns, without its precise content having been detailed in the letter addressed to professionals in the sector.
The exact timetable for the examination of the text in the National Assembly has not been communicated at this stage. The maintenance of the €500 million envelope for social housing in the 2027 budget will also have to be confirmed during the parliamentary examination of the finance bill.
