Kazakhstan to Buy 11 Bcm of Gas From Russia's Gazprom in 2026

Kazakhstan plans to purchase 11 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas from Russia's Gazprom in 2026, according to Deputy Energy Minister Kaiyrkhan Tutkyshbayev, as cited by TASS.
Tutkyshbayev said the decision to import gas from Russia followed technical issues at major domestic gas fields this year, according to the report.
Discussions are also underway for an additional 9 bcm of gas supplies for 2027, Tutkyshbayev said, though no final agreement on that volume has been confirmed.
TASS did not provide further details on the specific fields affected or the financial terms of the proposed 2026 supply agreement.
