Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili attributed the failure of the Namakhvani hydropower project to what he characterized as a "hybrid attack" from the European Union, according to TASS. The project, being developed by Turkish company ENKA, collapsed following the claim, creating legal and financial exposure for Georgia.
ENKA has initiated international arbitration proceedings against Georgia, with Papuashvili noting the company is seeking approximately $400 million in compensation. The speaker's remarks link the project's abandonment to external pressure related to EU relations.
