Islamabad police chief inspects stations under Smart Integrated Police Station drive

Inspector General of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, visited the Shalimar, Secretariat and Kohsar police stations to review progress on development work being carried out under the Smart Integrated Police Station (SIPS) initiative, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

During the visits, the IGP examined facilities available for police personnel at each station and assessed the range of services being provided to citizens who approach the stations for assistance.

Focus on modernization

The SIPS initiative is aimed at upgrading police stations across the capital with improved infrastructure and streamlined citizen services, part of a wider push to modernize policing in Islamabad. The IGP's visits form part of continuing oversight of the programme's rollout across the three stations.

Officials at the stations briefed the Inspector General on the status of ongoing upgrades and the facilities being extended to both personnel and the public. Sohail Chaudhry is reported to have directed continued attention to improving the standard of services offered to residents.

The visits are among a series of inspections Islamabad police leadership has been conducting as the Smart Integrated Police Station programme continues to be implemented across the capital's police stations.
