Iran Says Military Cooperation With Russia Expanding Faster Than Before

Iran's ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, has said Tehran is satisfied with the current pace of military cooperation between the two countries, describing the collaboration as expanding more rapidly than it has in the past.

Jalali's remarks point to a continuing deepening of ties between Moscow and Tehran, which have strengthened their defense and strategic relationship in recent years amid shared tensions with Western governments over sanctions and regional conflicts.

Iran and Russia have in recent years expanded cooperation across military, economic and diplomatic channels, including agreements covering defense technology and broader strategic partnership. Officials from both countries have periodically highlighted this cooperation as a counterweight to pressure from the United States and its allies.
