Iran's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that Iranian representatives conveyed the country's conditions for resuming diplomacy with the United States during a meeting held in New York, mediated by Qatar. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei confirmed that the meeting between Iranian and American officials took place on the sidelines of gatherings tied to the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Baqaei, Qatari mediation facilitated the talks, during which the Iranian side clearly set out the conditions it says must be met before diplomatic engagement with Washington can move forward.
