This week's new cinema releases in France span a wide range of genres, from wilderness drama to literary adaptation, according to France 24's film critic Emma Jones and presenter Eve Jackson.

Leading the roundup is "Heart of the Beast," in which actor Brad Pitt heads into the Alaskan wilderness alongside a four-legged co-star, a dog, in a survival-themed drama set against the backdrop of the American frontier.

Also opening this week is "Primetime," in which actor Robert Pattinson takes on the role of a controversial television host, offering a departure from some of his previous film roles.

Audiences will also see a new adaptation of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility," introducing the classic novel to a new generation of viewers, alongside "The Scarecrows' Wedding," a family film based on the popular children's book by Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler.

The varied slate reflects the breadth of this week's releases in French cinemas, offering options ranging from big-budget star vehicles to family-friendly adaptations of beloved literary works.
