Festival des Zébrures: an international meeting of French-speaking theatre in Limoges
The largest festival of French-speaking theatres opens this Wednesday in Limoges and Nouvelle-Aquitaine, bringing together companies from all over the world.
Les Zébrures, the largest festival of French-speaking theatres, opens this Wednesday, September 23 in Limoges and throughout the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, according to RFI. The event brings together companies from Europe, Asia, Africa and America to present their creations.
In an interview with RFI, the director of the festival, Hassane Kassi Kouyaté, explained the approach behind this new edition: "We wanted this festival to be a meeting of hope, beauty and poetry."
A theatre of resistance and reconstruction
The festival presents itself as a space for dialogue between French-speaking theatre companies from very diverse cultural and political contexts, highlighting creations that address themes of resistance and reconstruction throughout the French-speaking world.
By setting up in Limoges and Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the largest region in France, Les Zébrures confirms their ambition to shine beyond the Parisian scene, by irrigating the regional territory with international artistic proposals.
The program of this edition is scheduled to take place in several places in the region over the next few days.
