EU fines Google €403 million over location data practices

According to France 24, Ireland announced on Monday, acting on behalf of the European Union, that it had fined Google €403 million for improperly using users' location data between May 2018 and February 2020.

The European Consumer Organisation criticized the roughly eight-year gap between the conduct in question and the fine, saying such a delay "can be as harmful as no enforcement at all."
