Devastating floods and mudslides along the Nepal-China border have killed at least 1,442 people, with approximately 5,700 reported missing.
Nepal has reported 1,399 deaths and 5,179 missing persons, according to authorities. The Chinese side of the border has confirmed 43 deaths with 519 people unaccounted for, the Anadolu Agency reported.
The disaster struck the mountainous region near the Nepal-China border, where heavy flooding and mudslides have caused widespread destruction across multiple communities in the area.
