Camp Mystic is facing a criminal investigation that could include manslaughter or negligent homicide charges over the deaths of 27 girls during flooding in Texas last year, according to court documents cited by The Guardian.
Investigators sought search warrants last week to obtain electronic communications belonging to the camp's owners, saying the material could provide evidence of manslaughter, negligent homicide, child abandonment or other crimes, the report said.
No charges have been brought against the camp or its owners at this stage. A representative for the camp did not immediately respond to requests for comment, according to The Guardian.
The investigation adds to continuing scrutiny of the circumstances surrounding the flooding disaster, which resulted in the deaths of 27 girls at the camp last year.
