At least 49 people have died and around a hundred others have been injured in Nigeria's Ondo state after consuming alcohol suspected of containing methanol, according to France 24.
Local authorities said a potent, locally brewed herbal drink known as 'Monkey Shoulder' may be behind the poisoning, though the investigation is still underway, France 24 reported.
State police announced the arrest of 15 people in connection with the investigation, according to the report.
