Amazon Raises US Minimum Wage to $20 an Hour, Adds Whole Foods Discount

Amazon has raised its minimum wage for US workers to $20 an hour, up from $19, the company said. The increase brings Amazon's starting pay in line with Costco, according to the report.
Amazon said average pay across its US workforce has reached $24 an hour.
The wage increase is accompanied by a new benefit offering employees a discount at Whole Foods Market, the grocery chain owned by Amazon, according to the company.
The Guardian reported that the changes were announced by Amazon as part of updates to its compensation and benefits package for US employees.
