Nigerian singer Yemi Alade, one of Africa's biggest female music stars, spoke with France 24's Eve Jackson as she kicked off a new tour, looking back on a career built on global hits and hundreds of millions of online views.
Alade, a Grammy-nominated artist, revealed that she nearly missed the email that led to her collaboration with Beyoncé on the "Black Is King" visual album, a project that helped introduce her music to an even wider international audience.
In the interview, she also discussed her new album, "It's Yemi Alade," and her latest single, "Ala Bekee," recorded with fellow Nigerian producer and artist Don Jazzy.
