Wisconsin Congressman Swims to Safety After Plane's Emergency Landing in Lake
Representative Tom Tiffany and the pilot escaped after the aircraft lost power near Wausau, according to The Guardian.
Republican US Representative Tom Tiffany said he had to swim to safety after a plane he was traveling in made an emergency landing in a lake late Saturday, The Guardian reported.
Tiffany, who is also a Republican candidate for Wisconsin governor, said he was returning from an event in La Crosse County when the light aircraft lost power as it approached the Wausau downtown airport. He and the pilot landed in Lake Wausau and swam to safety, according to the report.
