US rapper Lil Durk acquitted of murder-for-hire charges
A jury found the Chicago musician not guilty in a scheme prosecutors said targeted Atlanta rapper Tayquian Bowman in retaliation for a 2020 killing.
Lil Durk, born Durk Banks, has been acquitted of all charges in a murder-for-hire case. Prosecutors had accused the Chicago rapper of placing a bounty on Atlanta rapper Tayquian Bowman's life, allegedly in retaliation for the 2020 shooting death of Banks's friend and fellow Chicago rap star King Von.
A man was fatally gunned down in 2022 as part of the alleged scheme, according to court filings.
