NASA and its European partners are using two satellites to study hurricanes during the current El Niño period, according to a NASA announcement.

The Sentinel-6B satellite, launched last November, is now flying 30 seconds behind its predecessor, Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, to improve hurricane forecasts and benefit industries including shipping, according to the announcement.
