UN warns Yemen escalation threatens Red Sea navigation and global trade
The UN has cautioned that escalating violence in Yemen poses risks to shipping routes and international commerce in the Red Sea region.
Yemen's government has called on the UN Security Council to condemn attacks attributed to Houthi forces and to enforce existing arms embargo measures against the group, according to the Anadolu Agency.
The Yemeni government also requested Security Council support for efforts to restore state control over territory, amid concerns that the regional conflict threatens critical shipping lanes and global trade flows.
