Ukraine's Third Army Corps has become the first unit in the country's armed forces to deploy unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) for mine clearance and to support assault operations, as part of the ongoing offensive known as Operation Vivaldi.
According to the unit, the ground robots are being used to clear minefields ahead of advancing infantry and to provide support during assault operations, reducing the exposure of soldiers to explosive hazards and enemy fire during high-risk maneuvers.
Expanding role for ground robotics
