Ukraine's National Guard Says It Struck Rocket Launcher, Guns Behind Russian Lines Near Donetsk

Ukraine's National Guard said pilots from its 5th Separate Detachment, part of the Omega Special Purpose Center, struck a multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) and two artillery guns while conducting operations behind Russian lines on the Donetsk axis.

According to the National Guard, the strikes were carried out as part of ongoing combat operations in the area, one of the most active sections of the front in eastern Ukraine.

The Omega Special Purpose Center is a unit within Ukraine's National Guard that has been involved in specialized combat operations since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

The report has not been independently verified, and Russian authorities have not commented on the claim. Ukrainian military channels frequently publish accounts of strikes on Russian positions and equipment as part of daily operational updates.

Fighting along the Donetsk axis has continued for months, with both sides reporting territorial gains and losses as the war approaches its fifth year.
