UK rules out cyberattack in air traffic technical failure that disrupted airports
British authorities said a technical problem, not a cyberattack, caused a major air traffic control failure that delayed or cancelled at least 1,900 flights, according to RFI.
At least 1,900 flights have been delayed or cancelled since September 8 at 15 airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin, due to a technical problem within the UK's national air traffic control system, RFI reported.
The head of the air traffic control organization was summoned on Wednesday, September 9, according to the report. The organization ruled out the possibility of a cyberattack as the cause.
