UK air traffic control resolves technical fault as flight cancellations exceed 1,300

A technical issue at UK air traffic control provider Nats has forced over 1,300 flight cancellations to and from UK airports, entering a second day of disruption. The Nats boss met with the UK transport secretary and ruled out a cyber-attack, attributing the incident to a fault in a complex system. Separately, Brent crude oil jumped to $100.19 a barrel—the first time since late July—rising more than $2 and marking a 2.2% increase. The spike reflects escalating military strikes in the Middle East as a six-month Iran-US war continues, with crude prices up roughly 25% since early August amid fading hopes for a diplomatic resolution.
