Two thieves cut through a fence and climbed through a window to steal four valuable Renoir paintings from a museum on the French Riviera on Tuesday, according to authorities. The suspects abandoned two of the artworks during their escape.

Christopher Marinello, a lawyer and founder of Art Recovery International, told France 24 that offering a reward for information could significantly aid in recovering stolen art. He characterized Europe's museums as being "under siege," citing broader theft concerns across the continent.
