Tate Britain exhibition captures 90s art and fashion boom that reshaped British culture
A new curated show at Tate Britain explores how a generation of young creatives and photographers defined the decade through experimental work.
The exhibition "The 90s: Art and Fashion," curated by Edward Enninful at Tate Britain, features iconic photographs and artwork from the era, including Kate Moss shot by Juergen Teller, Sarah Lucas's "Pauline Bunny" installation, and Alexander McQueen collaborations. The works capture a moment when British creative industries expanded and young artists and models in their 20s brought experimental energy to fashion and visual culture.
According to The Guardian, the photographs convey a sense of youthful energy and shared creative vision between photographers and subjects, marked by both serious artistic intent and a playful sense of transgression. The exhibition draws on Enninful's experience working at i-D magazine during the 1990s.
