Syrian dissident recovers books hidden from Assad-era security forces
After more than a decade in a refugee camp, a Homs resident tore down a false wall to retrieve Islamist literature he had concealed 15 years earlier, France 24 reported.
A Syrian opponent of the former Bashar al-Assad government has retrieved books he hid behind a false wall in his home in Homs 15 years ago, according to France 24.
The broadcaster identified the man as Mustafa Khaled Alwan, a sympathizer of Syria's Muslim Brotherhood, who had spent more than a decade living in a refugee camp before returning.
France 24 reported that Alwan built the wall to conceal Islamist books from security forces under Assad's rule.
