Sugarcane plantations currently cover approximately 16,500 hectares of farmland in Iran's southwestern Khuzestan Province, according to a photo report published by the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
IRNA reported that the planting season began in mid-August and is expected to continue until late September.
Due to the intense heat characteristic of Khuzestan Province during this period, agricultural workers reportedly carry out planting activities during the early hours of the day, the report said.
Khuzestan Province, located in southwestern Iran, is known for its agricultural production, and sugarcane cultivation is among the crops grown in the region's farmland.
IRNA did not provide additional details on the number of workers involved, expected yields, or the specific farms depicted in the photo report.
