The Sudanese army has taken control of areas in North and South Kordofan states following clashes with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), according to military sources cited by Anadolu Agency.

The sources said army units captured Al-Farshaya and Al-Mamsouka in South Kordofan, as well as Sharshar in North Kordofan, after fighting with RSF forces in the region.

Details on casualties, the timing of the operations, or the current situation on the ground in these areas were not immediately available from the cited sources.

Kordofan has been one of several regions affected by the ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF, which has been underway since fighting broke out between the two forces in April 2023.

Anadolu Agency did not name the specific military sources providing the information, and the report could not be independently verified.
